FAQs

Our school-based counseling program operates in collaboration with the school to ensure minimal disruption to students' academic schedules. Counseling appointments are scheduled during the school day at times that offer the least disruption to students' academics. Sessions take place in private and confidential rooms within the school premises, ensuring the utmost privacy. We utilize HIPAA compliant telehealth software to conduct counseling sessions remotely, allowing students to access support conveniently and securely.

Students in our partnering school district who are experiencing mental health or behavioral concerns are eligible to receive services through our school-based counseling program. However, it's important to note that we bill insurance directly for services. While we strive to provide support to all students in need, if a student or their family does not have insurance coverage that we accept, we may not be able to accommodate them for services at this time. We encourage families to reach out to us to discuss their specific situation, and we will do our best to explore alternative options and connect them with appropriate resources if needed.

Yes, counseling sessions are confidential. We prioritize the privacy and confidentiality of our clients and adhere to strict ethical and legal standards to protect their information. While counseling sessions take place within the school environment for convenience, it's important to note that we are not affiliated with the school. This means that information shared during counseling sessions is kept strictly confidential and will not be disclosed to school personnel or anyone else without the explicit consent of the client, except in cases where there is a legal obligation to report or when there is a risk of harm to the client or others. We provide a safe and confidential space for students to discuss their concerns openly and without fear of judgment.

Parents/caregivers are encouraged to be involved in the counseling process. They can participate in joint sessions with their child, attend family meetings with the therapist, and communicate openly with us about their child's progress and needs. We provide resources and support to help parents/caregivers understand and support their child's mental health.
